Regular formal meetings established alignment and governance, while informal channels enabled rapid clarification and sense making as new insights emerged. Over time, the team developed a shared vocabulary that reduced ambiguity and enabled more efficient collaboration. This shared language was critical in avoiding misinterpretation of analytical outputs and in building confidence in their use. The methodology deliberately fostered psychological safety. Team members were encouraged to question assumptions, acknowledge uncertainty, and challenge interpretations without fear of reputational impact. This was particularly important given the safety critical nature of slope stability analysis, where false confidence can be more damaging than acknowledged uncertainty. The collaborative model therefore functioned as both a technical and risk control mechanism. 4. OUTCOMES: FAILURE MODES IN CROSS DSICIPLINARY ANALYTICS AND HOW THEY WERE AVOIDED A substantial body of research highlights recurring failure modes in cross-disciplinary analytics initiatives. These include reliance on linear handover models, development of black box algorithms that erode trust, and misalignment between analytical outputs and decision authority (National Research Council, 2015; Kotarba et al., 2023). In engineering contexts, such failures often result in technically sound models that are ultimately unused. This work deliberately avoided these patterns. Analytics were not positioned as a standalone product delivered to geotechnical teams. Instead, analytical development and engineering interpretation evolved together, ensuring that outputs remained grounded in physical understanding and operational relevance. Another common failure mode is the absence of shared mental models across disciplines. Without a common frame of reference, disagreements are often attributed to disciplinary
