global decarbonization objectives and promotes the transition toward responsible, resourceefficient mining practices. As a direct progression of this research, a new stage of development (medium term) is being launched under the "Cobalto Sostenible" project (Sustainable Cobalt). Supported by CORFO (the Chilean Economic Development Agency), this initiative aims to scale the current technology (TRL5) to a semi-industrial pilot level (TRL7). This next phase will focus on validating operational variables as metallurgical, microbiological, environmental and economical in large-scale in-situ model, consolidating bioleaching as a mature, sustainable industrial solution for critical metal recovery in Chile and beyond.
