These scenarios represent medium-term and long-term horizons, respectively, and are intended to capture different stages in the evolution of water supply strategies for the operation and the basin. In both scenarios, a consistent regional configuration of potential desalinated water sources, shared conveyance infrastructure, and interacting users is considered, allowing the comparative assessment of alternative network configurations generated by the tool. For each scenario, the suggested water supply networks are evaluated through sensitivity analyses of key planning inputs, enabling the identification of robust solutions under varying assumptions without disclosing confidential operational parameters. The 2035 scenario represents a medium-term planning horizon in which Caserones is assumed to partially rely on desalinated water while maintaining interactions with other users in the basin. Under this scenario, two analytical cases are examined. The first case focuses on climaterelated conditions and their implications for desalination and energy-related planning assumptions, assessing how these factors influence the configuration and performance of shared supply networks. The second case explores changes in social perception and institutional constraints related to the use of desalinated water, particularly their influence on the feasibility of watersharing and exchange arrangements with agricultural users and rural water systems.
