Figure 8 – Large Shear stress vs axial deformation (Phase 1) 3.2.6 Pre-feasibility Study – Gate 2 The study involved the development of a tailings dewatering plant using cycloned-screened technology and two crushers and a waste rock conveying system at Class 3 standards, supported by laboratory tests, a pre-pilot plant, and mesoscale columns. The dewatering plant consists of a pumping system for feeding whole tailings, a singlestage cyclone-screening process, a pumping system for the fine fraction, and a system for conveying and reclaiming cycloned tailings. The crushing and conveying system includes two 63” x 130” gyratory11 Crushers with a nominal processing capacity of 137 Mtpa, as well as a material handling system and disposal system for discharge into the waste rock dumps.
