As outlined in How to Make Filtered Tailings Feasible, modern pressure filters now routinely handle very large tonnages while achieving substantially lower residual moisture levels—sometimes as low as ~5%, depending on ore type and process conditions. These improvements are the result of advancements in: • plate and frame design, • hydraulic systems, • filtration media durability, • cloth washing systems, and • real-time cycle optimization.
