Once the drainage geocomposite had been applied, soil was deposited on flat areas such as plateaus and berms. At the same time, geogrids and geocells were installed on the slopes, as shown in Figure 14, anchoring the system in the same trench that had been previously dug for the other geosynthetics. To fill the geocells, a long-arm backhoe was used to dump soil that had been previously placed on flat areas onto the cells and then spread it along the sloped surface, maintaining the 300 mm thickness required in the project.
