Within all tests – from laboratory conditions to real field applications – several main trends and practical conclusions stand out. From a practical point of view, lime milk is not a reliable solution for sustainable dust suppression, especially in dynamic climate changes. The observed effect at 3% concentration for all reagents is that in most cases the effect is weaker than that at 1%, which can be explained by the faster formation of a surface layer that does not penetrate deeply. This requires adapting the concentration not only according to the product, but also according to the properties and composition of the treated surfaces. CONCLUSION TSF are a challenge from an environmental point of view and are one of the most problematic units in the mining industry. They are designed for the storage of fine waste materials that contain toxic metals, acidic components and have low water permeability. With climate change, which has been observed in recent years, increasingly frequent droughts, intense rainfall and strong winds - these landfills are becoming sources of pollution. The fayalite in question, as a residue from metallurgical processes, approaches the structure of the tailings. When dry, its surface is easily pulverized. For this reason, it is necessary to find an adequate solution.
