ECOSYSTEM COORDINATION Mining companies operate within interconnected ecosystems involving governments, investors, technology providers, local communities, and downstream industries (UNDP, 2024). The performance and legitimacy of mining operations increasingly depend on effective coordination across these actors, rather than on internal practices alone. Governments establish regulatory frameworks and policy stability, while investors incorporate ESG and impact performance into capital allocation and financing decisions (CFA Institute, 2023). At the same time, downstream industries—particularly in energy, automotive, and technology sectors—are integrating traceability and sustainability requirements into procurement processes (IEA, 2024). Technology providers play a key role by enabling traceability, measurement, and data integration across operations and supply chains. These systems improve transparency, strengthen decision-making, and support alignment between operational performance and impact objectives.
