253 The Design for Sustainable Prosperity (DSP) framework offers a suitable foundation. By integrating systems thinking with structured decision-making and embedding SDG indicators throughout planning and evaluation, DSP facilitates a transition from static assessment to dynamic prioritization and implementation. This approach enables the identification of interventions that address multiple regional challenges and generate sustained, multi-dimensional benefits aligned with the UNSDGs. Decreasing Stagnating Moderately improving On track or Maintaining SDG achievement Decreasing score, i.e. country moves in the wrong direction Score remains stagnant or increases at a rate below 50% of the growth rate needed to achieve the SDG by 2030. Also denotes scores that currently exceed the target but have decreased since 2015 Score increases at a rate above 50% of the required growth rate but below the rate needed to achieve the SDG by 2030 Score increases at the rate needed to achieve the SDG by 2030 or performance has already exceeded SDG achievement threshold Figure 1 – The Four-arrow system for denoting SDG trends (Sachs et al., 2025)
