THE NORDIC MINING CLUSTER The Nordic mining cluster includes companies and organisations mainly from Sweden and Finland but also Norway and Denmark. Figure 1. The cluster has three legs: ● Highly efficient mining companies with low CO2 emissions and environmental footprint. ● Equipment and technology suppliers of world class. ● Research network including junior exploration companies, universities and industry covering a wide range of specialities in the entire value chain. This cluster has been developing over the centuries. Mining and metals production is, and has been, a key pillar of economic development in Sweden and Finland.
