It is located along strike, just 15 km south of Barrick Gold’s Pierina Au Mine in central Perú. Mineralization at Alto Ruri is hosted in the same volcaniclastic unit as Pierina with a similar size alteration footprint. The Pierina mine has produced over 10 million ounces of gold since comercial production began in 1999.
