3.3 Feasibility Stage – Gate 3 As part of the development planning for the feasibility stage, the following is being developed: 3.3.1 Pilot Plant13 Two piles of commingling material will be built in the southern area of the Yanacancha waste rock dump, whose height will be 30 and 60 m, considering mixing ratios from 3.5: 1 to 4:1 for the evaluation of geotechnical and geochemical stability. This will be achieved using conveyor belt systems and a radial spreader to simulate future operating conditions. The tailings to be used will come from the southern area of the current Tailings Storage Facility and will be extracted and transported by trucks to the Pilot Plant. The required waste rock will also come from the mine, with a maximum size of 7”. The tailings will be loaded into hoppers by frontend loaders, while the waste rock will be placed by trucks into two fixed grizzlies. The feeding of waste rock and tailings will be done through belt feeders equipped with a frequency variator to regulate the mixing ratio. The Pilot Plant will have one fixed conveyor belt, three grasshoppers, one bridge belt, and one radial spreader, which will be relocated to the position of the Pile of 60 m of height as soon as the Pile of 32 m of height is finalized. Both piles will include geotechnical and geochemical instrumentation to analyze deformations, segregation effects, liquefaction, moisture, homogeneity, pore pressure, settlement, oxygen and CO2 profiles, and the quality and quantity of leachate flow, among others. Finally, based on the results from the Pilot Plant, which should corroborate the project assumptions, and the development of the Class 2 Feasibility Study, in accordance with Antamina's investment management guidelines, the Commingling project will be executed.
