3. AUSENCO BRIDGES PROGRAM Ausenco is a global consulting company that provides services to mining clients, including Integrated Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM), sustainability, consulting engineering, and operations and maintenance consulting. Ausenco has implemented its Building Relationships for Indigenous Development, Growth, Engagement & Sustainability (BRIDGES) Program, a strategic partnership initiative focused on building long-term, trusted relationships with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities, Development Corporations, and Indigenous-owned businesses across Canada. This initiative reflects Ausenco’s commitment to supporting Indigenous priorities through respect and collaboration―it’s about building connections and creating pathways that support long-term success. Through BRIDGES, Ausenco aims to create shared value, advance community-led priorities, and ensure Indigenous participation in all aspects of project development and delivery. Through the Indigenous partnerships in projects, Ausenco offers to Indigenous Nations the following: • Flexible relationship models, from informal collaboration to formal partnerships • Opportunities for economic participation, teaming on projects, Indigenous businesses leading projects, or collaborative delivery models • Project visibility and active involvement in planning and decision-making • Indigenous and local hiring, training, and workforce development • Opportunities for Indigenous youth through community-based training, mentorship, and meaningful work aligned with Nation and business priorities • Respectful inclusion of Indigenous knowledge, values, and traditions, including Traditional Ecological Knowledge in project planning and delivery • Alignment with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action #92, as reflected in Ausenco’s Reconciliation Action Plan • Prioritization of Indigenous-owned businesses within the project supply chain The map (Figure 2) below shows the Indigenous Partnerships already created in Canada through the BRIDGES Program. It plans to expand across Canada and into the United States. The Program is currently helping our mining clients reduce time to build relationships and partnerships with Indigenous Nations surrounding their projects and, ultimately, co-create value by maximizing economic benefits.
